How to get started using MetaHarper technology

This section lists some very simplified walk-throughs of how to perform typical technical tasks associated with orchestrating virtual world performances. These walk-troughs do not describe every detail, every feature, or a various advanced or more complicated setups. For more complete information please see the sections for specific products.

CAUTION: Please be aware that creating a full performance, event, or gallery is more involved than only the technical steps described here. There are many other issues to consider such as scheduling, staffing, communication, publicity and material, readiness checklists, backup plans, etc. If you want to learn more about how to put on a full event, think about talking to other people who have been a part of events similar to the one you envision.

Typical, simplified technical tasks

  1. Use the ChoreoHUD to make an animation sequence
  2. Use the ChoreoHUD Dancer to play an animation sequence on a group of people
  3. Prepare a work area for programmed, stage events
  4. Rez and Derez a prop
  5. Play an animation sequence using MST Performance Engine and stage mover
  6. Make an avatar move around a stage in a specific, programmed path
  7. Create a scripted camera sequence and play it using the MST Performance Engine
  8. Run a programmed stage act using the above steps 4-7.

Intermediate technical tasks

  • Run two or more different animation sequences at the same time
